“Sustainability isn’t just a choice between plastic and paper, it’s also the immaterial things we can’t see.” – Andrew Li
Andrew is the Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of ReThred Apparel. Andrew specializes in the operations and logistics behind ReThred Apparel from quarterly planning to production planning. He often works across multiple departments from day to day and fills in the gaps. He also leads the company’s sustainability efforts from methodical planning to the company-wide culture. His educational background in business and interest in sustainability makes him a great leader for not only the company but for like-minded young environmentalists fighting for our planet.
Andrew, born and raised in Oakland, is currently a senior at Oakland High School and a concurrent student at Laney College in Oakland, California. Recently, he just finished his Associates of Science in both Business Administration and Economics, and he expects to submit his petition for graduation this coming spring! Outside of the classroom, Andrew is very passionate about Microplastic pollution in our oceans and tackling sustainability from the private sector. His interest in microplastic pollution started at a program, Berkeley Business Academy for Youth at the Haas School of Business in Berkeley, California. There he and his group pitched a company called “Fibra”, a quirky, sustainable, and unconventional apparel brand. This, later on, becomes ReThred Apparel LLC with the help of a few colleagues from the program. In his free time, Andrew loves watching the Niners and Notre Dame fighting irish. His favorite Niners players are Robbie Gould, Kwon Alexander, and Deebo Samuel.
